The Hastings Writers’ Group (HWG) is open to writers over the age of 18.

The annual subscription is £80 for a year, or £40 for six months. This covers:

• The hire of our meeting room;
• The publication costs of our annual anthology;
• Fees for competition judges and workshop leaders; and
• Expenses surrounding the running of this website.

Those interested in joining may wish to get in touch via our email address and come along for a free ‘taster’ evening before deciding whether they think the HWG is for them. Please note, however, that there is usually a waiting list for membership.

We currently meet at The Pig, a pub on the seafront at 37 White Rock, Hastings, TN34 1JL. Meetings run from 19.30 to 21.30. Please arrive promptly.

Younger writers may be interested in joining the Hastings Young Writers which is for those aged between 11-18. For those younger than that, the Hastings Junior Writers is for under-11s just setting off on their creative journey. Details about these groups can be got by contacting the HWG email.
